Rural Bus is a company set up for the express purpose of providing transport to communities within the areas of Limerick and North Cork.

Rural Bus is a not-for-profit company and is one of thirty four Rural Transport Initiative projects funded by the Department of Transport under the National Development Plan and administered by Pobal (formerly Area Development Management Ltd).

Support

This company has been supported by the Dep. of Transport under the Rural Transport Initiative which is funded by the Irish Government and part-financed by the EU through the National Development Plan 2000-2006.

The company is also supported by the Dept. of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht affairs under the Community Services Programme.
